How did you start on your spiritual path?

Posted on Oct 15th, 2008 by ladybug : intuitive indigo child ladybug
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 15, 2008:

my spiritual path started when i was very young. i have always been a lover of God's gifts. i used to yell at my mom at the age of four for killing spiders in the house because "they are God's creatures" at the ages 4 through 13 everynight falling asleep was meditation for me. (though at the time i didn't know it was called meditation) i would talk openly to God about my thoughts on life. the things i liked and disliked. occasionally i'd ask for things in particular, but for me it was more about getting in touch with some"thing" i distictly remember closing my eyes and flying through the universe at speeds of light past stars and comets and large bodies, astroids... it was that or i would have the sensation of getting smaller and smaller until i felt like i was the size of a needle point resting on my pillow. these experiences provided me with the concept of my smallness in comparison to the universe and yet gave me the confidence the God's power with in me could do anything, even race at the speed of light (or faster) through the many galaxies. i've mostly always had a very stable sense of self and my place with this universe and God. i lost all that to the power of my dissorted ego at some point. since then to about 3 years ago i'd been complacent in that sort of distortion.  and the beast of the mutated ego is one tough guy to get rid of now. a situation of complete solitude and repreive of all my obligations would help greatly in the battle. but i can't even conquer the beast with-in enough to get there. i guess the lucky part is, i remember exactly how i felt when i was younger. so there's a feeling to work towards that can lead me on this expedition... anyway... my whole life has been a spiritual path. there's no other path. just some people don't realize it.

Do you know your purpose in life?

Posted on Oct 23rd, 2008 by ladybug : intuitive indigo child ladybug
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 23, 2008:

I highly doubt I know my purpose in life. Even if I thought I know. I feel like my purpose is to be a good, kind, generous person. But I have a lot of purposes. With all the potential I am as a human I can't imagine just having one purpose. My purpose is to heal with love; to grow with open-mindedness; to treat others with the upmost respect; to express myself with art and writing and dancing; to take good care of the earth mother; to grow plants; to serve humanity; I see no end to this list. Maybe there is a purpose specific and unique to each of us. But I haven't found it. All I can say is that I know my humble place with the rest of humanity and I am daily trying to fufill the many callings I have as a human.

Politics:

i'm finding the source of my frustration with politics mostly lies with the fact the everything is split in two (sometimes 3 or 4). there's not much room for individualism. which i feel is the most important part of any aspect of life and especially something like politics which includes masses of people and their individual opinions. i stand for personal freedoms and rights and for taking care of the gracious gifts the universe has provided us, like our earth mother. as far as politics go i wish the focus would shift from personal matters and issues. we can't stop war and hate and judgement when our country's government is founded on a whole bunch of internal political wars, people who hate each other and people who judge each other.  we're all too preoccupied with arguing with each other and competing with each other to notice what matters. America caters to corruption (by use of $) and therefore forces most good, honest, balanced and mentally sound leaders away from political positions.  We have to learn how to be warm to our neighbors before we can heal a government. And in my life time I have not even seen much sincerity in that. Our neighbors are just as much strangers to us as the people across the ocean that we are fighting.

Obama's stance on the US

From Sunday's televised 'Meet the Press' Senator Obama was asked

about his stance on the American Flag.  Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama

to explain why he doesn't  follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code,

Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national anthem when the

flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention

facing the flag  with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, 'Stand and Face It'

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, 'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want

to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world

to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys

a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped

for something  less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the

World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it. .'We should consider to

re-invent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies

hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance

to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct  ourselves

as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord

between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end

hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from

disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an

unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I

have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her

views and I have mine'. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President

of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE

to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming

our Country's First  Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America .

WHAAAAAAAT the Hell!!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President.

 I, for one, am speechless.

Dale Lindsborg,

Washington Post

i received this from a family member of mine. i would have been more thankful had i not received the offensive opinion at the end. "what the hell" is quite an inapropriate phrase for such a "serious" matter.  personally i can't say i stand fully on the side of obama yet. i know my options extend farther than just to the republican or democratic canidates... i feel a step toward more neutral ground as portrayed by the text above would yeild a more unifying quality about the us. what's wrong with national reform? why are we all so attached to the words and rules written in an era QUITE different from the one we all find ourselves surviving in now? history repeats it's self because we lack reform. the openess to allow other options, change, something that suits our time... i thought grade school tried to teach me the principles that our government was based on. things like tolerance, freedom, respect of personal, inate rights. rights like whom you wish to marry, how you wish to teach your children... i see that obama wants to take a step toward a radical change.  and i respect that. i respect that he sees a corrupt system and he wants to change it. and he's passionate about it. i'd rather not sit around picking him apart expecting him to be anything more than human just like the rest of us. it's frustrating to see so many people so eager about dividing this nation. i think it's absolutely ridiculous that something like politics causes major rifts between people. politics is just a mesh of idealogical arguments. we're all just throwing ideas at each other like BOMBS!  i remember in 7th grade and entire class of 30+ students sat their desks up as a round table. we each were on a team of delegates from each of 13 states coming together to negotiate the articles of confederation. we were asked to study the ideals of the state for which we represented and negotiate with the rest of the class accordingly.  it is absolutely mind boggling to me that the negotiations between the students of that class were far more peaceful and comprimising than what i have ever seen in any presidential debate between adults with life experience past the age of 35. it all stems to how we were raised really. the ego-centric culture of america is creating an untamable beast.

halloween political bashing

Palin_2
i was watching the news this morning and they reported on a couple of passionate political followers that emulated the death of the canidate they dislike as decoration for halloween. (california news/media likes to cover things like haunted houses and what puppies were born to the weather lady's dog the day before...)

that is just plain disrespectful. no matter how much you dislike someone's ideals it's never ok to emulate their death as decoration for a holiday that has NOTHING to do with politics. how rude and disrespectful. for the lady that put up the no obama thing the mccain campaign actually came out to the lady's home to ask her to take down the distasteful display. there was a couple that also depicted mccain hanging palin.

i just find it absolutely appalling that people are treating our presidental candidates with such disrespect. above all they are still fellow humans. would you depict the death of your brother just because you didn't like his ideals? and these are still men of office. wouldn't that be some sort of betrayal of our government??? in anycase, i just found it interesting and thought i'd share.
